Geneva, Switzerland – Recently, STMicroelectronics released the STGWA30IH160DF2 IGBT, a 1600V-rated power transistor designed for soft-switching topologies in high-power applications such as induction heaters, microwave ovens, and rice cookers.

The STGWA30IH160DF2 is intended for energy-efficient power conversion in high-temperature environments and supports quasi-resonant converters operating between 16 kHz and 60 kHz.

Features & Benefits:

  • 1600V breakdown voltage and 30A current rating
  • Low thermal resistance and maximum junction temperature of 175°C
  • VCEsat of 1.77 V (typical at rated current)
  • Advanced trench gate field-stop (TGFS) technology minimizes conduction and switching losses
  • Soft recovery anti-parallel diode with low forward voltage
  • Suitable for paralleling due to positive VCE(sat) temperature coefficient
  • Enables reduced BOM with high surge voltage tolerance

Part of ST’s STPOWER IH2-generation, this IGBT is suitable for harsh thermal conditions and high-efficiency consumer appliances. It offers robust performance for cost-sensitive markets seeking strong energy ratings.

The STGWA30IH160DF2 is available now in a TO-247 long lead package, with pricing starting at $1.98 for quantities of 1000 units.
