PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A man authorities allege broke into a Rhode Island manufacturing plant, destroyed computers and surveillance cameras, ransacked offices and set fires in several locations was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday.
Jacob Lahousse, 20, who has no known address, was indicted on an arson charge in connection with the April fire at Sports Systems Custom Bag Corp. in Woonsocket, federal prosecutors said.
Investigators were led to Lahousse after a surveillance photograph of him was posted to Rhode Island’s Most Wanted website. He was arrested last Thursday.
Lahousse broke into the business on April 5, and was seen on surveillance walking around the facility placing items into bags, authorities said. The company sells totes, backpacks, duffel bags, fanny packs and all sorts of other bags.
The fires had mostly been extinguished by the building's sprinkler system by the time firefighters arrived, prosecutors said.
A message was left with Lahousse's public defender.
