Volkswagen has hit a snag in the rollout of its new subcompact SUV, the Taos.
The company has asked dealerships to stop selling the new vehicle.
Reports have surfaced that suggest the engines on the Taos 4Motion AWD models can unexpectedly shut down.
The reports indicate that the incidents occurred after the vehicles were coming to a stop.
Automotive News says VW has confirmed that the company “is now following the required NHTSA reporting timeframe.”
VW also says it is unaware of any injuries stemming from the problem.
According to Jalopnik, the first half of the year saw VW sell more vehicles than it had since 1973.
