3D Systems has made some major announcements this month. The company has partnered with BMW to 3D print car parts, and it also struck a deal with Sanmina to manufacture its 3D printers in Fremont, California.
The company also came out with a slew of new additive manufacturing platforms, including a few that could change the makeup of modern manufacturing facilities.
In this edition of IEN Newsdesk, David Mantey interviews Phil Schultz, Senior Vice President of On Demand Solutions at 3D Systems. Schultz discusses the company’s new product offerings as well as the future of the additive manufacturing industry. Could we soon be driving autonomous 3D printed cars? We are closer to crossing that chasm than you think.
