Tormach is a manufacturer of personal CNC milling machines. In a recent video, the company revealed a new project that shows you how to make your own yo-yo from a piece of aluminum stock on the company's 15L Slant-PRO Lathe.

On the company's site, they offer step-by-step instructions to walk users through CNC machining the parts needed to build a modern butterfly yo-yo out of a 2.5” diameter piece of 6061 aluminum that is at least 3” long, a yo-yo factory upgrade kit, some string, and an M4 set screw.
