NuVue Foods recently announced they are recalling 268 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken burrito products due to a labeling error. The mistake led to the label neglecting to identify an allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products in question contain egg, which was not declared on the product label.
The six-ounce, individually-wrapped packages were mistakenly labeled as 18th Street Deli Chicken Burritos, but were actually 18th Street Deli Farmers Burritos, which contained eggs. They were produced on October 31 and shipped to retail locations in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The problem was discovered last week following a consumer complaint.
There have been no confirmed reports of illness stemming from the recalled products.
