INDIANAPOLIS, February 19, 2018 – Asterion will once again host a Certified Electroplater-Finisher (CEF) training course to be presented by the AESF Foundation at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Indianapolis, IN, from April 30 to May 4, 2018.

This initial training course consists of 40 hours of classroom instruction in the basics of electroplating and surface finishing technology.

The course runs the gamut from electro-chemistry to anodizing, copper plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, corrosion protection, rinsing and cleaning. Upon course completion, the student has the option of sitting for a 2.5-hour exam which — if completed successfully — results in the student receiving the title of Certified Electroplater-Finisher (CEF).

The CEF designation is the only worldwide recognized certification in the plating industry. There are several levels of CEF certification and each level is achieved by completing a different course and exam beyond the initial CEF training.

Classroom instruction and study will begin on Monday, April 30 at 8:00 am and conclude each day at 4:30 pm. The CEF exam will be offered on Friday morning, May 4.

Participants are responsible for their travel, lodging and the NASF course instruction fee which includes the administration of the CEF exam.

Asterion will provide the venue as well as daily luncheons, dinners and refreshment breaks. Furthermore, the company has arranged for a block of rooms at the Drury Plaza Hotel at a discounted rate of $129.00 per night.

When making your hotel reservations, please note Group Number 2334073.

CEF training is beneficial for operators and supervisors of job and captive shops performing a wide range of surface finishing on a variety of substrates.

The course training includes fundamentals of electroplating, part pretreatment methods, as well as an understanding of other finishing processes.
