Bentley, Macallan Design Horizontal Whisky Bottle

They’ll use aluminum and leather recovered from the Bentley manufacturing process.

Bentley and Macallan have partnered to design the Macallan Horizon, a single malt whisky in a horizontal bottle.

The bottle does not feature a standing base and requires a 180-degree twist to be freed from its holder.

The companies said the bottle β€œdefies the traditional vertical aesthetic of a whisky bottle and reflects the horizontal trajectory of the automotive world.”

The companies are using six different upcycled, repurposed or ethically sourced materials to produce the bottles.

The materials include recycled copper from spirit stills that were located within Macallan's former distillery.

They’ll also use aluminum and leather recovered from the Bentley manufacturing process along with recycled wood and recyclable glass.

The final element is the whisky, which was developed by Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell.
