Anheuser-Busch to Brew Ukrainian Beer

The effort will provide relief funding for the war-torn country.

The U.S.’s largest brewer plans to pay tribute to its Ukrainian counterpart — and provide millions in relief funding for the war-torn nation.

Anheuser-Busch and parent company AB InBev this week announced a new initiative to help those impacted by Russia’s invasion.

The Budweiser maker will produce a new beer inspired by the popular Ukrainian beer Chernigivske at its brewery in Newark, New Jersey.

The new beer will be available in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Phoenix starting next month.

Profits will go to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund, and AB InBev has committed a minimum of $5 million to aid organizations in the region.

The original Ukrainian beer, also owned by AB InBev, is named after the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine.

The city was devastated by a month-long siege by Russian forces this spring. Russian troops abruptly departed in early April.
