Home Depot Battles Talent Crisis with Next-Day Job Offers

Job candidates may be offered roles within one day of applying.

Home Depot recently announced its intention to hire 100,000 new workers.

The home improvement retailer says its needs include “customer service/sales, store support, freight, merchandising and warehouse associates.”

But the company knows it is facing a lot of competition.

U.S. job openings reached 10.9 million in December, according to recently published government data.

With this in mind, Home Depot will attempt to get a leg up in the race for talent.

According to CNN Business, the company plans to remove the red tape inherent in the typical hiring process.

For instance, Home Depot says job candidates may be offered roles within just one day of applying.

The company also emphasizes its “upskilling program” and says workers can develop new skills like software development, cyber security, data science, marketing, supply chain and finance.
