Boeing hit an e-commerce milestone in record time this week.
The aerospace leader reached $1 billion in online orders more than three months faster than ever before.
Until this year, portions of the company's aftermarket parts products were only available via phone or email purchasing.
Now, customers can purchase all product lines on the Boeing Distribution online parts page, formerly known as Aviall.
The platform provides access to more than 16 million parts as well as support for spare parts issues.
Boeing made a concentrated digital shift this year, adding new features like improved navigation and "live chat" to solve common e-commerce challenges.
The effort has thus far increased digital self-serve ordering from 75% in 2020 to 85% so far in 2021.
Boeing says the achievement is an indicator of the continued market recovery from the impact of COVID-19.
