Leading logistics provider UPS has long been known for its brown trucks and brown-uniformed drivers.
What you probably didn’t know is that UPS has strict guidelines on the personal appearance of its drivers.
The delivery giant recently announced that it was making changes to its long-standing policies, including lifting bans on beards.
Until this week’s changes, drivers were also not permitted to sport mustaches that hung below the crease of the lip.
The company has likewise lifted antiquated bans on Afro hairstyles and braids, as well as gender-specific directives on the length of their famous brown shorts.
Men are also now allowed hair longer than shoulder-length.
An internal memo, according to the Wall Street Journal, told workers the company was working to “celebrate diversity rather than corporate restrictions.”
