Letters to Santa Mailbox Recalled Following Lacerations

The Consumer Product Safety Commission today announced the recall of a "Letters to Santa" mailbox following multiple reports of lacerations, some which required medical attention.

Manufactured by Mast Work handicraft in China, the Bullseye’s Playground Metal Mailbox was sold at Target stores. Target received nine reports of sharp mail slots and seven laceration incidents, three people required medical attention.

The recall affects about 174,300 mailboxes which were sold from October 2021 through November 2021 for $5 (as a single) and $10 (two pack).

Consumers are instructed to stop using the mailboxes immediately and return them to the store for a refund. 

These product item numbers are included in the recall:

  • 234-17-8556: Letters to Santa Metal Mailbox – Red or White
  • 234-20-9275: Letters to Santa Metal Mailboxes - Red & White (2 Count)
