CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a New York man with a history of selling defective airplane parts to the government has been arrested for doing it again.
Paul Skiscim was arrested Monday.
According to authorities, Skiscim and his company Aerospec Inc. were barred in 2013 from supplying the federal government with airplane parts because of defects.
Federal prosecutors say Skiscim continued to do it through shell companies using names of relatives and fake people. Authorities say those companies took in more than $2.8 million for supplying airplane parts — some of them defective.
Skiscim is awaiting a court appearance in Central Islip (EYE'-slihp) on Long Island.
There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment his behalf.
