Precision sheet metal fabricator Unifab Corporation partnered with Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Troop 80452 on a project that produced 17 custom-designed metal signs.
The collaboration allowed the Scouts to tour Unifab’s facility, engage in design discussions and observe operations. The project also received support from Midwest Fasteners, who donated the bolts used to install the signage.
The completed signs are mounted at St. Augustine Cathedral School in Kalamazoo.

“Our troop decided to beautify our school community and wanted to do it in a sustainable way," Girl Scout Troop Leader Maureen Yanik said. "These metal signs, courtesy of our friends at Unifab, will stand the test of time, enabling our scouts to improve their community while also learning about STEM and manufacturing fields."
The signs feature the "Works of Mercy," which Catholic tradition describes as charitable actions that help address the physical and spiritual needs of others.
Based in Portage, Michigan, Unifab has provided fabrication services to industries ranging from automotive to material handling since 1940.
