A revamped third-floor lobby of a dorm on the campus of Michigan State University is designed to be a place for students to collaborate and learn.

Officials from the East Lansing school and General Electric Co. on Friday are dedicating the updated space at East Wilson Hall.

The dorm is home to a program for engineering students that integrates academic programs with the place where they live.

Fairfield, Connecticut-based GE says it's renewing its relationship with the school, giving $200,000 in support of the College of Engineering. GE says it wants the updated dorm lobby to be a place where student can fine tune team-building skills.
