Nested-based machining in both UHMW and aluminum from the M-Series.
C.R. Onsrud
C.R. Onsrud (Troutman, NC), a manufacturer of CNC machinery, recently showcased its industrial CNC machines at IMTS 2026.
The company had the following capabilities on display:
- Aluminum Sheet Nest: With the ability to arrange (nest) parts in a tight formation, manufacturers can maximize material yield, make more parts per sheet, spend less than buying precut blanks and reduce time spent on loading material and unloading parts. More versatile than a traditional VMC for metal machining, the M-Series offers powerful, high-speed performance.
Multi-Angle Capability on a 3-Axis Machine: 3-axis machines cut from the top down, but with the addition of an aggregate, they can cut, drill and saw the sides of the materials and at custom angles as well. The M-Series demonstrates the use of a right-angle aggregate to perform drilling operations in ¼-inch wall profile extrusion.
Extrusion drilling with right-angle aggregate (M-Series).C.R. Onsrud- Processing of Heavy Linear Profiles: The 5-Axis EX-Series processes heavy wall extrusions for the fabrication industry. Its servo-driven clamping system is designed to achieve the hold and clamping force distribution for any profile geometry and length; parts come off the machine ready for installation.
Intricate, Complex Parts in a Single Setup: The CH-Series with 5-axis capability demonstrates intricate, complex routing in large metal block. Notable advantages include completing all complex geometries in a single setup, achieving tight tolerances as the tool maintains a constant, optimal angle with the material, reducing cycle times, eliminating the need for secondary operations and delivering install-ready finishes right off the machine.

Onsrud- Machine Monitoring Software: Typically if a machine doesn’t speak MTConnect or FOCAS, it’s invisible to a monitoring dashboard. Osense bridges the gap. Manufacturers can track live and historical machine data on Onsrud and non-Onsrud branded machines as well as all their auxiliary equipment, all on one platform.
