
SLB announced a $30 million plan to expand manufacturing space at its technology center in Shreveport, Louisiana, continuing the transformation of the former GM assembly plant. The expansion will support increased production of digital infrastructure and data center equipment.
The company expects the project to add 600 jobs to its current workforce of 660 employees. Louisiana Economic Development (LED) estimated that it will create an additional 744 indirect new jobs.
The new project, which will double the Shreveport facility's footprint, adds to over $18 million spent on the the location. Work on the expansion will begin in January 2026, with staffing increases planned through 2027 as new areas of the site become operational.
To secure the project in Shreveport, the state of Louisiana offered SLB an incentives package that included the comprehensive workforce development solutions of LED FastStart and a $6 million performance-based grant for utility and infrastructure improvements. The company also plans to participate in the state’s Quality Jobs program.
