Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced that Capture Group will develop a facility in Sterling Heights to serve as a production and operations hub for advanced defense technologies. The company expects the $5 million project to create at least 125 jobs.
Established in 2026, Capture Group is the U.S. entity of Capture Systems Ltd., an Israeli-based company that specializes in systems for the defense and homeland security sectors. The company has developed advanced counter-unmanned aircraft system (UAS) platforms capable of detecting, identifying and neutralizing airborne threats.
"We are honored to partner with the State of Michigan as we establish Capture Systems' U.S. manufacturing and engineering hub,” Capture Systems Group Chief Operating Officer Avi Braun said. “This investment represents a major milestone in our global expansion strategy and reflects our long-term commitment to creating high-value jobs, investing in advanced manufacturing and strengthening America's defense industrial base."
When complete, the facility will include production lines for counter-UAS platforms, optical surveillance systems and mobile defense systems. It will also function as a marketing base and a center for development, integration and testing of advanced counter-drone systems and remote-controlled weapon stations.
The Michigan Strategic Fund awarded the expansion a $936,000 Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) performance-based grant. Capture Group also considered sites in Florida and Virginia.
