Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg today announced that Glovesafe OpCo, Inc., doing business as GLVUS, will establish its North American headquarters and a new manufacturing operation in Louisville’s LOUMED Medical & Education District.

He said the company’s $5.8 million investment will create 100 new jobs in the first four years and introduce the nation’s first domestically manufactured premium sterile surgical gloves for the U.S. health care market.

GLVUS will establish its headquarters and a manufacturing facility that will produce sterile surgical gloves used by surgeons, clinicians and health care teams across the U.S. By bringing production onshore, the company aims to improve quality oversight, enhance lot traceability and strengthen supply chain resilience for critical medical supplies.

GLVUS’s selection of Louisville reinforces the momentum building in the LOUMED Medical & Education District, where health care providers, education institutions and private-sector partners are working collaboratively to accelerate innovation, talent development and job growth.

The project will support 100 new positions within its first for years, spanning advanced health care manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, logistics, packaging, tooling, chemical supply and facility support services. GLVUS also plans to partner with Jefferson Community & Technical College (JCTC) to build a pipeline of skilled operators, technicians and engineers trained within the LOUMED District.

The project was supported at the state level by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA), which preliminarily approved incentives through the Kentucky Business Investment program to encourage job creation and capital investment. GLVUS is also eligible for workforce services, including recruitment assistance and customized training.
