SOUTH HADLEY, MASS. (AP) — A Massachusetts paper products manufacturer is closing down, costing the state dozens of jobs.

A company official says South Hadley-based Canson Inc.'s owners — an Italian conglomerate — purchased Wisconsin's Pacon Corp. last year, and Pacon makes many of the same products. The work done in Massachusetts will be moved to Wisconsin.

The Republican reports that a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the state says the move will cost 67 jobs.

Workers are being laid off through the end of March.

Over the years Canson produced sketch pads, note cards, scrap books, journals and distributed artist paints.
