According to the New York media outfit Newsday, hummus maker Sabra Dipping Co. will shutter a plant in Farmingdale, NY, with closure scheduled for June 30th. The plant, which produces a Greek yogurt dip, employs 22 people.
According to the article, a spokeswoman for the White Plains-based company provided the following statement: “These decisions are never easy, but for the long-term growth of the Greek Yogurt Dip line, working with a co-manufacturer will enable us to meet the scale and innovation in our pipeline.”
The employees are scheduled for layoff in mid-May, but are being offered transfer opportunities to facilities in Virginia and California.
