Factorymation 2 Sized

FactoryMation (Canton, GA) now carries the new IMO Precision Controls FireRaptor, a solar panel rapid shutdown solution designed for emergency responder safety and National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance. The NEC 2017 Edition, fully in effect as of January 1, 2019, significantly changed the requirements for solar panel rapid shutdown. NEC 2017 now requires that conductors be de-energized following rapid shutdown. The means of rapid disconnect must be located within 12 inches of the solar panel, allowing fire fighters and first responders to safely navigate the structure during an emergency. The IMO FireRaptor, rated for 700W with IP68 NEMA 4X protections, meets the NEC 2017 standards and is suitable for controlling one string (two panels) while remaining compliant. This rapid shutdown solution is easy to install and easy to use, requiring no setup and including both hardwire and mobile communication alarm signaling capability.
