MRPeasy (Dallas, TX) has expanded its built-in AI assistant, Mr. Peasy, with the ability to answer questions using a manufacturer’s own operational data.
Users can now ask questions about inventory, production, orders, suppliers, and other business information directly inside MRPeasy and receive answers based on the data they are authorized to access.
The update moves Mr. Peasy beyond its original role as a software support assistant and into the role of an operations assistant. In addition to explaining MRPeasy features and workflows, it can now help users retrieve information, analyze data, and create tables, reports, and charts.
For example, a user could ask which items are below their critical stock level, request an overview of open orders, or ask Mr. Peasy to summarize and visualize a set of operational data.
Early adopters are already applying the new functionality to practical business questions. Ymani Efunyale, founder of Philadelphian household cleaning products manufacturer Good Vibes Clean, says:
“One of the first ways I tested Mr. Peasy was by having him summarize my profit margins over the last 90 days. He summarized them and gave me a table that features every product I sell in my e-commerce store, breaking down profitability. I copied that report and pasted it into another AI app, which used that intel to help me decide which bundles to promote and which products to highlight for the coming holiday sales. I learned that my 32-oz bottles have much higher profit margins than my 16-oz sizes and would remain profitable even with deep discounts. Great information obtained from a very simple prompt. I look forward to exploring all the ways Mr. Peasy can help me in my business.”
The new capability is designed to help both experienced and occasional ERP users work with operational information more efficiently. It can also make it easier for new employees to find relevant data without having to learn where every report, field, or filter is located.
Customer data access is optional and disabled by default. When enabled by an account administrator, Mr. Peasy operates in read-only mode and follows the user permissions already configured in MRPeasy. It cannot make any changes.
Mr. Peasy is powered by Google Gemini through a commercial API license. Under the applicable Gemini API terms, prompts and responses are not used to train Google’s models or develop its products.
MRPeasy has implemented strong privacy safeguards around AI processing. Sensitive data, such as names of customers, suppliers, products, or employees, is replaced with random identifiers before information is sent to Gemini and restored before the answer is displayed to the user.
The new feature is part of MRPeasy’s broader effort to make manufacturing ERP software easier to use and to help small and medium-sized manufacturers get more value from the data they already collect.
