All the recently released grinders feature a powerful 15 AMP motor that delivers more output and up to 11,500 RPM for a wide variety of applications.

Makita

Makita U.S.A., Inc. (La Mirada, CA) has released eight new grinding solutions for the industrial grinding category. The release includes five 5” grinders and three 4 1-/2” grinders providing more options for a wider range of applications.

The new GA45 and GA50 series grinders feature Makita’s exclusive SJS II Technology which provides two key advantages. SJS II is a mechanical gear drive system that helps prevent motor and gear damage by dampening the force and releasing the gears when the wheel is forced to stop. And since it’s a mechanical feature (not electronic), SJS II does not require a restart after the wheel binds. Another key advantage is lower vibration. SJS II utilizes a leaf spring and cam gear drive mechanism that is engineered to reduce vibration for increased operator comfort during extended use.

All the recently released grinders feature a powerful 15 AMP motor that delivers more output and up to 11,500 RPM for a wide variety of applications. Longer tool life is achieved through the use of labyrinth construction seals that protect the motor and bearings from dust and debris. The grinders feature a “tool-less” wheel guard for easy adjustment.

GA45 Series 4-1/2” SJS™II High-Power Angle Grinders include:

  • GA4590 – Features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to adjust RPM from 2,800 - 11,500 to match the speed to the application.
  • GA4591 – Features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to adjust RPM from 2,800 - 11,500 to match the speed to the application and a mechanical brake that stops the wheel in under 2.5 seconds.
  • GA4595 – Features a paddle switch for increased operator comfort during extended use.

GA50 Series 5” SJS™II High-Power Angle Grinders include:

  • GA5090 – Features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to adjust RPM from 2,800 - 11,500 to match the speed to the application.
  • GA5091 – Features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to adjust RPM from 2,800 - 11,500 to match the speed to the application and a mechanical brake that stops the wheel in under 2.5 seconds.
  • GA5092 – Features a slide switch with lock-on for continuous use.
  • GA5093 - Features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to adjust RPM from 2,800 - 11,500 to match the speed to the application, a mechanical brake that stops the wheel in under 2.5 seconds, and a paddle switch with lock-on for continuous use.
  • GA5095 - Features a paddle switch with lock-on for continuous use.
