RAMGuard, with its unique Rubber Armored Molded design, was recently granted a patent. Unlike most plastic guards, RamGuard from Ridg-U-Rak (North East, PA) is molded of a high-durometer rubber compound with energy absorbing air pockets behind a reinforced steel plate. According to the company, RAMGuard provides superior rack column protection by dissipating more impact energy and better distributing impact forces than other commonly used guards. In fact, frontal impact test data shows the RAMGuard reduces impact stress levels in the column as much as 72%. The RAMGuard performs equally well for both frontal and 45 degree impacts.
Available in 12-inch heights and 5.5" wide, RAMGuard snaps on to columns 3-inches wide and 2-1/4 to 3-inches deep.
