Long Travel System with Articulated Roller Support

Every ARS supports high load, high acceleration/speed applications, and has been tested through millions of cycles.

Dynatect 2 Sized

The Gortrac Articulated Roller Support (ARS) Long Travel System from Dynatect (New Berlin, WI) responds to the crane, machine tool and automation industries’ need for long travel cable carrier solutions. An ARS is intended for travel up to 300 feet and eliminates the expense, potential damage and depot storage area of a traditional guide trough. This system eliminates up to 50% of the force required to push and pull in most applications.

For decades, the default long travel solution has been to allow the cable carrier to glide on itself within a guide trough. Until the ARS, alternative non-gliding long travel applications have been limited by the unsupported span of the cable carrier and number of support rollers that can be applied (fixed rollers cannot be placed in the area where the curve travels). The articulating roller supports are mechanically actuated by the curve of the cable carrier as it passes through the supports, allowing passage of the cable carrier as it travels while providing support throughout the travel of the system.

Every ARS supports high load, high acceleration/speed applications, and has been tested through millions of cycles. With fewer components, installation of the ARS is faster than traditional trough systems – typically 50% less.
