Keystone

Keystone Electronics (New Hyde Park, NY) has expanded its series of Ultra-Low Profile, Surface Mountable Threaded Inserts to include Metric and Imperial thread options. These inserts are specifically designed and packaged for use on PCBs in the same manner as other SMT components as a simplified method of adding threads to PC Boards. Specifically:

  • Manufactured from Steel with a Tin plate, these inserts offer an easy method of adding threads to a PCB while utilizing the same equipment as with other SMT components, resulting in a reduction of handling time or damage that may occur while using traditional threading methods for a PCB.
  • These new threaded SMT inserts are now available in metric (M2.5, M3, M4) and Imperial (2-56, 4-40, 6-32) threads with low profile height above the board of only .012”. Supplied on tape and reel with Kapton tape on top surface for easy pickup, they are ideal for use with most vacuum and mechanical pick-and-place assembly systems.
  • Availability is from stock through Keystone’s global distribution network and online.
