Michigan Factory Nets Violations for Burning Waste

The company has been burning used paint filters in ovens.

A coatings maker in Kalamazoo has been slapped with multiple violations after being accused of burning hazardous waste.

According to Michigan area news source M Live, Wright Coating Technologies has been burning used paint filters in ovens.

This is reportedly a violation of the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Hazardous Waste Combustors.

According to M Live, besides burning filters, the company faces other violations.

These include, says the report, “failure to develop and implement a training program for certified operators and not performing and recording weekly waste inspections.”

Wright produces industrial and commercial coatings for a variety of applications.
