Top 10 Largest Rockets for Space Travel

The biggest rocket of all time is planned for launch later this year.

Recent out-of-this-world journeys by billionaires Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson have brought a lot of attention to space tourism.

To see what’s literally behind these journeys, ACE Cash Express recently unveiled a list of the Top 10 Largest Rockets that have been used for space travel, or are planned for it.

The Space Shuttle launches the list at #10 with a height of 184’ and a 65,000-pound payload.

Skipping ahead, at #8 is SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket, measuring 230’ high with a payload of over 70 tons.

At #5 is NASA’s SLS Block 1, which, when ready, will measure 322’ high and be able to carry over 154 tons.

NASA also holds the #3 spot with their Saturn V - the 363’ rocket launched in 1967. NASA is also working on what would be the second largest rocket, the SLS Block 2 Cargo that will come in at 365’.

But the largest rocket is planned for launch later this year in the form of SpaceX’s Starship Super Heavy rocket. The 394’ rocket will carry over 220,000 pounds.

A full list of the rockets is provided below.
