Kellogg Laying Off 108, Shuttering Atlanta Plant

Kellogg recently announced that they would be laying off 108 employees as it shutters the Atlanta facility by October. The move is part of the Project K cost-cutting program first announced last fall. The move is seen as a way to improve the efficiency of the company's frozen foods division. 

The cost cutting measures hope to shed as much as $475 million annually in transitioning from direct store deliveries to warehouses. Kellogg recently made headlines for the $1.3 billion sale of its Keebler and Famous Amos brands to Ferrero.
