Growers Express recently expanded a voluntary recall initially issued on July 1 associated with the presence of Listeria in their fresh vegetable offerings. Further testing of an additional product lot from the suspected source of the recall found specific lots of brussels sprouts, cauliflower florets and green beans have also been contaminated. They products are sold under the Green Giant Fresh, Growers Express and Peak brands to retailers and foodservice outlets.

The products originated from a Growers Express production facility in Biddeford, Maine and were distributed to the states of Massachusetts and Maine. Growers Express is no longer sourcing vegetables from the suspected cause of the contamination. There are no reported illnesses to date.

The company also emphasized that the recall does not include any Green Giant canned or frozen vegetable products.
