Lack of Inspection Leads to Tamale Recall

Nearly five tons of pork and chicken tamales failed to meet federal inspection guidelines.

Los Hernandez, LLC. of Moxee, Washington is recalling approximately 9,090 pounds of chicken and pork tamales that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement. The tamale products were produced from December 3, 2018 through February 7, 2019. The 30-pound boxes were sold through the company's restaurant from December 2018 through May 1, 2019.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS verification activities.There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
