Wrap and Salad Products Recalled for Listeria

FDA testing in the facility identified the contamination.

Houston, Texas-based Great American Marketing, Inc. is recalling approximately 3,329 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry wrap and salad products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement.

The 7.4-ounce to 10.25-ounce wraps were produced between March 27 and April 8, and include the Caeser Salad, Chef Salad, Club Wrap and Chicken Caeser Wrap varieties. They were shipped to retail locations throuhgout Texas.

The problem was discovered when the Food and Drug Administration notified FSIS that routine testing of a shared FSIS and FDA processing area within the establishment tested positive for the presence of L. monocytogenes. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
