Product Tampering Leads to 95-Ton Sausage Recall

They were produced and packaged for Conagra Brand/Duke’s Meats Corporation and sent to retail locations nationwide.

Monogram Meat Snacks, LLC out of Martinsville, Virginia is recalling 191,928 pounds of ready-to-eat pork sausage products that may have been contaminated due to post-production product tampering. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement.

The five-ounce plastic pouches of ready-to-eat pork sausages are heat-treated and shelf-stable. They were produced and packaged for Conagra Brand/Duke’s Meats Corporation between January 16 and March 7 and distributed to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered on March 11. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
