Chocolate Cherries Recalled Over Packaging

The recall was initiated after the company discovered that the packaging did not reveal the presence of milk.

Prosser, Washington-based Chukar Cherries is recalling 7.5-ounce packages of Amaretto Rainier Ultra Dark Chocolate Cherries because they may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of an allergic reaction. The product was distributed to retail stores in California, Colorado, Maryland, Maine, Oregon and Washington.

The plastic pouches in question carry a Best By date of 11/2019. No allergic reaction has been reported to date.

The recall, which is being made in conjunction with the FDA,  was initiated after the company discovered that the packaging did not reveal the presence of milk.
