The breakfast cereal market yielded an unexpected boost when the pandemic pushed many Americans towards comfort food staples.
As a result innovation was on the rise, with companies like General Mills releasing 16 new cereals last winter.
Inspiration for new cereals can come from unexpected places, as evidenced by a new partnership between Kellogg and the fast food restaurant, Wendy’s.
The duo have announced the upcoming release of a breakfast cereal inspired by Wendy’s malt-milkshake hybrid, the Frosty.
Dubbed "Wendy's Frosty Chocolatey Cereal," the limited edition item will feature chocolate marshmallow pieces and “cocoa-coated round cereal bites."
Wendy’s has previously partnered with Kellogg on Pringles flavored like their Spicy Chicken Sandwich and “Baconator” burger.
