Johnsonville Recalls 55 Tons of Pork

The problem was discovered after the company received consumer complaints for pieces of hard, green plastic.

Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin-based Johnsonville, LLC is recalling 109,603 pounds of smoked pork sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials. The announcement was made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The fully cooked Jalapeno Cheddar Smoked Sausage products were produced on January 4 and shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered after Johnsonville received three consumer complaints for pieces of hard, green plastic in the sausage product. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
