A 63-year-old worker died following an accident at the Steel Dynamics Heartland plant in Terre Haute, Indiana.

According to the sheriff's office, Jeffrey Stewart was likely repairing or working on a large roll-up industrial door when he somehow became entangled.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene around 10:45 a.m. on Friday. Stewart didn't have a pulse when they arrived.

According to the AP, EMTs freed Stewart by getting the door to release, but he was declared dead at the scene.

In a statement, the company said, "Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and the Heartland team."

Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steel Dynamics (SDI) is one of the largest steel producers and metal recyclers in the U.S.
