RICHMOND, VA — Jabil yesterday announced plans to establish a new U.S. manufacturing site to make critical power distribution systems and solutions for Siemens. The facility at Crosspointe Logistics Center in Prince George County is scheduled to open in Fall 2026 and is expected to create 352 new jobs, all in support of the energy infrastructure industry.
As demand for power infrastructure accelerates, driven by rapid growth in the data center and electrification industries, the investment will help expand capacity and accelerate the deployment of new infrastructure, according to Siemens.
A combined $30 million investment from Jabil and Siemens will go towards scaling up equipment, tooling, production readiness and operations. The new facility will feature some 300,000 square feet of modern industrial space to expand U.S. production capacity for Siemens’ medium-voltage switchgear and integrated power delivery solutions.
“Our new Prince George facility will help us build the energy management solutions Siemens needs to meet customers' growing power requirements with greater speed and scale,” said Brent Tompkins, SVP, Global Business Units, Renewables and Energy Infrastructure, at Jabil.
The facility will produce advanced systems and solutions to protect, control, and safely operate equipment in data center, utility, and industrial power generation and distribution applications.
According to Brian Dula, president of electrification and automation at Siemens Smart Infrastructure USA, the company's "data center, utility and industrial customers are under intense pressure to add capacity quickly, with less risk and more predictability.
“By adding additional avenues to expand dedicated manufacturing of Siemens‑designed switchgear and power delivery solutions here in the U.S., we’re helping customers shorten project timelines and improve delivery confidence — while reinforcing a resilient domestic supply chain,” he said.
For Jabil, this investment adds to the company’s growing U.S. manufacturing footprint, spanning more than 30 sites. Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, the company has more than 100 global manufacturing sites and some 140,000 employees.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Prince George County and Virginia’s Gateway Region to secure the project. Governor Abigail Spanberger approved a $700,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist with the project.
Support for Jabil’s job creation will be provided through the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program. The program, created by VEDP in collaboration with higher education partners, provides free training and recruitment solutions customized to a company’s operations, equipment, standards and culture.
Jabil has worked with Siemens for several years. Earlier this month, Siemens announced it had reached $1 billion in domestic manufacturing investments to support American industry, infrastructure and transportation over the past five years.
