Grupo Vialume, a Brazilian manufacturer of advanced visibility solutions for transportation safety, revealed plans to establish U.S. operations in Colquitt, Georgia. The company expects the $4.4 million investment to create 150 new jobs over approximately seven years.

Founded in the 1980s and based in the state of São Paulo, Grupo Vialume is a second-generation, family-owned enterprise. Its flagship business, Vialume, reportedly serves as Brazil’s largest producer of reflective raised pavement markers.

"This decision reflects the growing demand for sustainable products, the strength of our supplier base in the United States and the greater ease of exporting to our commercial partners,” Grupo Vialume CEO João Paulo Moura said.

Grupo Vialume said its new integrated manufacturing and recycling hub will produce both plastic raised pavement markers and precision-engineered reflective lenses. The facility will also pioneer new circular-economy processes by transforming materials like textile offcuts and peanut-shell byproducts into high-value products and raw materials.

The company plans to set up U.S. operations at existing facilities, with upgrades scheduled for completion in 2026. Positions will include production operators, injection machinists, salespersons, logistics experts and management roles

Senior Project Manager Mellissa Takeuchi represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development on this project in partnership with Colquitt Downtown Development Authority and Electric Cities of Georgia.
