Hyundai and Kia today rolled out a new and improved design for their their DAL-e Delivery robot, which is based on the model introduced in 2022. The companies said the new design is intended to improve delivery performance in tricky locations like offices and shopping malls.
DAL-e Delivery is built for stability with its square column shape and low center of gravity. The automakers said the robot's sensors have been integrated into a "metal-like design" that makes DAL-e Delivery feel more like a premium service.

The robot is built on four Plug & Drive (PnD) modules, which Hyundai and Kia describe as a motor with steering, suspension, braking systems and environmental recognition sensors. The device can reach speeds of up to about four feet per second while relying on autonomous driving technology that spots obstacles and cruises through congested areas without running into people. The robot's also been given an enhanced suspension system so its cargo is better protected from bumps and impacts.
"DAL-e Delivery offers efficient and reliable F&B and parcel dispatch services to ensure customers receive goods promptly," said Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of Robotics Lab at Hyundai Motor and Kia. "Our vision extends to implementing infrastructure interworking across diverse spaces, including offices, restaurants and shopping malls."
