ST. LOUIS (AP) — A NEW $5 million garment manufacturing facility is planned in St. Louis' Grand Center neighborhood.

Evolution St. Louis CEO Jon Lewis announced his company's plans on Thursday.

The 32,000-square-foot facility is expected to bring more than 50 jobs over the next three years, but Lewis says he wants to see the plant grow much larger.

St. Louis Public Radio reports that high-tech 3D and seamless-knitting machines will make clothing along with things like car seats and medical applications.

Equipment is expected to arrive in August, with the first batch of products expected by the end of the year.
