Ebm-Papst to Build $37M Plant in TN

NASHVILLE, TENN. (AP) — An electric motor and fan manufacturer plans to build a new plant in Tennessee, a $37 million investment expected to create 200 jobs over five years.

The Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner announced Thursday that ebm-papst Inc. will set up the facility in Washington County, where the company will build fans for refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation. It's expected to begin operations in September. 

The Germany-based company produces motors and fans for many industries, including agriculture, air-conditioning and ventilation, appliance, commercial refrigeration. It employs more than 15,000 employees worldwide. 

The company's U.S. headquarters are in Connecticut, where it employs about 300 people.
