ATMORE, Ala. (AP) — A Huntsville-based aerospace engineering company plans to invest $7 million to open a manufacturing facility in Atmore.

Alabama Gob. Robert Bentley said in a news release Thursday that Brown Precision Inc. expects to create more than 100 jobs with the opening of the facility.

The facility will employ workers in areas including computer numeric control-based manufacturing, custom fabrication and component coating. The company expects to make an initial investment of approximately $7 million in the facility, with the possibility of expansions.

Company Co-CEO and Chief Financial Officer Greg Brown will move to the Atmore area to oversee the new facility.

Bentley says aerospace is Alabama's second-fastest growing industry sector and a key target in his economic development strategy.
