David Salkever received his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and spent 33 years as a faculty member in the Schools of Public Health and of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University and 15 years as Professor in the School of Public Policy at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus at both schools.
Salkever has been an active consultant for the past 15 years with Westat Inc. doing evaluation studies of Social Security Administration randomized trials providing employment supports to persons with disabilities. He's also involved in research on the impacts of disabilities and environmental hazards on economic activities of children, parents and disabled adults. He was a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research for 34 years.
