BU015X 7-axis robot
Nolan Beilstein
Kawasaki Robotics (Wixom, MI) introduced the BU015X 7-axis robot for adhesive dispensing and inspection at Automate 2026 in Chicago. The BU015X is designed for sealing hard-to-reach areas and large workpieces and can be used in real-world automotive production environments.
The BU015X 7-axis robot provides an adhesive dispensing, continuous measurement and automatic real-time adjustment solution for automotive parts such as a door skin or the underside of car bodies using a Coherix 3D laser-based Adaptive Process Control standard.
Features:
- 7-axis design that allows it to seal hard-to-reach areas where a conventional 6-axis robot cannot reach
- 2,887.5 mm maximum reach
- 15 kg payload
- Floor mounting
- Measures and automatically adjusts adhesive bead placement in real time at operational speeds of up to 400 times per second
- Accommodates cables and hoses inside the wrist, upper arm and base
- Utilizes machine learning and real-time process optimization to help manufacturers reduce defects, material waste, labor costs and rework while maintaining full production-line speeds
- Eliminates interference with peripheral equipment
