EMCO (Salzburg, Austria) introduced the Mecof Megamill, a multi-purpose, large-format milling and machining solution for heavy-duty industrial components that uses the Industry 4.0 standard for automation and digitalization.
Features:
- Highly customizable axis strokes up to 42,500 mm in X (with a 36,000 mm double crossbeam), 8,000 mm in Y and 2,500 mm in Z
- Managed by Siemens Sinumerik ONE numerical control
- Multiple interchangeable heads, including universal bi-rotary heads (38 kW, 6000 rpm, ISO 50) for high torque and milling heads with torque motor (24,000 rpm, HSK 63-A) for high speed
- Connectivity via optional Siemens Integrate Access My Machine OPC/UA for real-time process monitoring
- Utilizes Siemens Omative Adaptive control to optimize machining parameters
- Advanced systems like laser measuring and radio probes, anti-collision device and guide pressurization systems
