ATEQ (Livonia, MI) introduced the Early Decision Tool (EDT), a software feature designed to improve leak test efficiency in manufacturing operations.

The EDT is built into select ATEQ leak testers, including the F620 and F670 models. It monitors real-time pressure data early in the test cycle to determine whether a part passes or fails before completing the full test.

Features:

  • Analyzes pressure conditions at beginning of test cycle
  • Determines pass/fail status before full test completes
  • Includes multiple micro-test sequences (Pr1, Pr2, Pr3…)
  • Rejects leaking parts early or approves good parts immediately
  • Reduces total cycle time by up to 50%
  • Improves production line efficiency without affecting detection sensitivity
  • Records data from thousands of parts to establish performance benchmarks
  • Uses conformity parameters to account for environmental variables such as temperature or airflow

The EDT is suitable for applications in:

  • Automotive - fuel systems, EV battery trays, A/C modules
  • Medical devices - catheters, fluid bags, filters
  • Consumer electronics - smartwatches, speakers, drones
  • Packaging - cosmetic closures, plastic bottles)
  • E-Mobility - hydrogen tanks, fuel cells, bipolar plates
