Recently, POSITAL (HAMILTON, NJ) introduced its new generation of IXARC magnetic absolute rotary encoders featuring BiSS C communication interfaces. These encoders are designed for commutation and position feedback in BLDC servo motors and are suitable for complex, multi-axis motion control applications such as robotics and medical equipment.

The IXARC encoders provide absolute position feedback for motion control systems. Their compact size, low power consumption, and advanced communication interface make them applicable in high-performance, space-constrained environments.

Features & Benefits:

  • Incorporates BiSS C (Bidirectional/Serial/Synchronous Continuous) interface for real-time communication
  • Provides up to 19-bit resolution and supports rotational speeds up to 12,000 RPM
  • Multiturn variants include a 32-bit rotation range for over two billion revolutions
  • Utilizes Wiegand energy-harvesting technology for self-powered rotation counters, eliminating backup batteries or gear drives
  • Compact 36 mm diameter housing compatible with Size 15 resolver mounting
  • Offers multiple configurations for housing, flange, shaft type, and environmental protection
  • Uses standard RS-422 wiring, compatible with SSI interface cabling for simplified system upgrades

Meets requirements for motion control and feedback systems in robotics, medical, and industrial automation applications. Compatible with non-proprietary BiSS Association standards, which are freely available for implementation.
